Johnny Tremain
For an Honors project we read Johnny Tremain. I am only on page 88. So far, Johnny has gone to court and won, gotten out of captivity from Merchant Lyte's mansion, and burned his hand shut. He used to be a silversmith's apprentice. John Hancock gave him a sugar basin to replicate for his aunts birthday. He had to work on sabbath to finish it (which is against the law). When he asked for a crucible, his rival apprentice, Dove gave him the cracked one. When Johnny melted the silver in it, then some spilled out and his hand was burnt together. Then he couldn't be a silversmith. So, he went with his cup that his mother gave him from Merchant Lyte to Merchant Lyte's place. Then Merchant Lyte accused him of stealing it. So Johnny went to court and had his master's grand-daughter, Cilla, testify that he had shown her the cup before the date that Merchant Lyte said it was stolen.
